HJS research fellow Dr Rakib Ehsan discusses the withdrawal of Dr Tony Sewell’s honorary degree from the University of Nottingham. He argues that Sewell’s recent CRED report on race relations is a valuable contribution to racial debates in the UK, and that his branding as politically controversial by his detractors is a shameful development in race relations.
