The Henry Jackson Society today commented on reports that President Trump will be making a visit to the UK in July.
Dr Alan Mendoza, Executive Director of The Henry Jackson Society, said:
“It is greatly welcome that the long-running saga about whether the leader of our closest ally is to visit the UK has been resolved.
“As the co-ordination and co-operation between the US and UK over the Syria airstrikes has shown, the transatlantic relationship does not need visits – state or otherwise – to hold together. However, dialogue to maintain the strength of the ‘special relationship’ has never been more important than in this time of global instability.
“Irrespective of its configuration, this visit shows clearly the commitment of this Administration to one of its lead European partners.”
