The Henry Jackson Society today commented on the news that President Donald Trump has replaced Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State with the director of the CIA, Mike Pompeo.
Alan Mendoza, Executive Director of the Henry Jackson Society, said:
“Mike Pompeo’s appointment is good news for the UK.
“Unlike his neophyte predecessor, he brings recognised political and intelligence experience to his new role, which will command immediate international respect.
“As importantly, he has shown a long-term commitment to the idea of US leadership internationally – and the importance of working with allies like the UK in heading off global threats.”
