Our Asia Studies Fellow, Gray Sergeant, and Counterterrorism Fellow, Isabel Sawkins, joined forces to assess how China uses the cloak of ‘counterterrorism’ to hide its crimes in Xinjiang. They argue that China has tried to use the War on Terror against the West, in order to defend its use of concentration camps against the Uighur Muslim population.
