Megan Gittoes

Megan is the Director of Communications at the Henry Jackson Society, overseeing media output and the communications strategy across both traditional and digital coverage, as well as reach across social media platforms. She was uniquely placed in undertaking her position with HJS with a background in politics and public affairs both as a former Senior Aide to the Rt Hon. Tobias Ellwood MP, Chair of the House of Commons Defence Select Committee and when managing the public affairs function of a large corporate organisation.

Her experience while leading the team for Tobias Ellwood MP, focused on supporting him in his duties scrutinising the Ministry of Defence, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the UK Government’s broader security strategy from within his House of Commons Office. She led his team on research, communications, and parliamentary work.

When fulfilling duties as Public Affairs and PR manager in a corporate setting Megan both represented the business priorities to the government and advised parliamentarians on the sector ahead of debates and public bill committees.
