Tougher Terrorism Legislation In The U.K.: Will It Be Effective?

In the interests of 100 days of a new government in the U.K., a counter-terrorism bill will be put forward before Parliament in mid-March. Some aspects of it have been announced today (January 21), mainly, that automatic release on licence of terrorists with extended determinate sentences will end, that there will be a mandatory 14 years in prison for those preparing acts of terrorism or directing a terrorist organisation, and that terrorists will be monitored more closely in jails.
