Hate preacher Anjem Choudary must go on anti‑extremism course

Tom Wilson, a research fellow at the Henry Jackson Society’s centre on radicalisation and terrorism, said: “The government clearly has a redoubled concern about returning fighters and recently released offenders. That the programme is being administered by the Home Office directly and executed by specialist independent providers underlines its concern.”

He warned that the number of individuals who would take part in the programme represented “a drop in the ocean compared with the scale of the threat”.
