Hong Kong stock exchange boss says protesters are wrong to demand political rights

Dr Andrew Foxall, director of research at the Henry Jackson Society, said: “The people of Hong Kong have just as much a right to self-determination as any other – these rights were promised to them by China under Basic Law as part of the handover. These dismissive comments will only further exacerbate concerns about HKEX’s proposed takeover of institution as crucial to the British economy as the LSE.”
