James Rogers, director of the Global Britain programme at the Henry Jackson Society think tank in London, said that there had been an “unrelenting bombardment” of negative stories about Britain since the referendum.
“The New York Times has always had an anglophobic or at least an anglo-sceptic tinge,” he said. “But Brexit triggered them in a way that nothing else ever has. They equate Brexit with the election of Trump in the US but really need to look deeper to see if the two events are actually as comparable as they think.”
