RUSSIA’S WAR IN UKRAINE: PROSPECTS FOR PEACE?

12 April @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Russia and Ukraine are still at war. The United Nations estimates that since 2014 more than 10,000 people have been killed and more than 23,500 injured.

The Minsk II agreement, reached in 2015, was heavily weighted in Russia’s favor, but Russia has continued to destabilize Ukraine since. Does Russia actually seek peace in Ukraine? And if so, on what terms? Who should be party to such a deal and what guarantees are there that Russia would stick to it? Finally, what policy options are available to the West for dealing with Russia in Ukraine and elsewhere?

The Henry Jackson Society is delighted to invite you to an event with Herman Pirchner, Jr, who will analyse the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Herman Pirchner, Jr. is the founding President of the American Foreign Policy Council (AFPC). Before founding AFPC, Mr. Pirchner served in the U.S. Senate as Director of Legislation for Senator Roger Jepsen and Legislative Assistant to Senator Chuck Grassley, current Chairman of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. Mr. Pirchner has given testimony before Congress and has provided commentary on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, BBC and other news channels. Mr. Pirchner directed the national security team advising the 2012 Presidential campaign of Newt Gingrich.
