The recent changes in the Middle East are vast and historical. These changes are not about to cease, but instead are likely to intensify in pace and ramification given the reshaping of the region that is taking place. While such changes are often looked at negatively by those used to the supposed stability of what came before, there is another way that the period of the last 15 years can be viewed: the end of illusions. Sunni-Shia disputes, Persian-Arab rivalry and the collapse of multi-religious and multi-ethnic states have all caused us to view the reality of the Middle East differently. And nobody seriously believes that the path to Middle East peace still runs through Jerusalem. So what, in that case are we to expect in the future for the Middle East and surrounding area?

By kind invitation of Lord Trimble, The Henry Jackson Society is pleased to invite you to an event with Major General Yaacov Amidror, former National Security Advisor to the P.M of Israel and ex-Head of the National Security Council who will be discussing recent developments such as the resumption of Turkish-Israeli relations, burgeoning relations with the Gulf states spurred on by the rise of Iran, and possible future realities of the Middle East.

To attend, please RSVP to rsvp@henryjacksonsociety.org – RSVPs must include your full name and any affiliations including for any guests you wish to bring. We will send a confirmation that will be required to attend the event.

Major General Yaacov Amidror served as the National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of Israel and the Head of the National Security Council, from April 2011 to November 2013. Prior to this he served with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) for 36 years in which he held positions as a Commander, Military Secretary and Director of the Intelligence Analysis Division.  General Amidror is now the Anne and Greg Rosshandler Senior Fellow at the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies, Bar – Ilan University, and he is a Distinguish Fellow of JINSA’s Gemunder Center. Since retiring from the armed forces, General Amidror has published three books, including ‘A Strategic Prospective, Winning

Counterinsurgency War, the Israeli Experience’ and had published articles which appear frequently in Israeli and international publications.
