A British fighter with Islamic State has died in a suicide attack in Iraq, the group has claimed.
The militant, named by the group has Abu Musa al Britani, died in Anbar province, social media accounts linked to IS said.
The group claimed that “nearly 30” people died as a result of the blast he was involved in.
Kyle Orton, a Middle East expert for the Henry Jackson Society, said the death toll was probably “exaggerated”.
Another Middle East expert, Georgia State University Senior Research Associate Charlie Winter, said al Britani blew himself up while in a vehicle.
On its Telegram messaging service, IS claimed that al Britani was targeting a convoy of Iraqi army vehicles heading towards Kubaysah at the time.
