The Russia and Eurasia Studies Centre undertakes in-depth, analytically-focussed research into domestic and foreign policy issues in Russia and the other post-Soviet states. Established in 2010 as the Russia Studies Centre, the programme’s geographical scope has widened since 2014, mirroring the high level of importance attached to the region.
Director of the Russia and Eurasia Studies Centre, Dr Andrew Foxall, is a leading Russia expert with a DPhil from the University of Oxford. Dr Foxall regularly contributes to publications including TIME, World Affairs and The Moscow Times and appears on major news channels. He has given briefings to the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe on the situation in the North Caucasus. He is the author of a forthcoming book, Ethnic Relations in Post-Soviet Russia: Russians and Non-Russians in the North Caucasus (Routledge; London and New York) and numerous academic articles.
