Britain is ‘ill-equipped’ to defend itself from a Russian nuclear attack should Vladimir Putin declare war, an expert has warned.

According to latest figures, Vladimir Putin could call upon 7,300 nuclear weapons, while Theresa May has just 215 in the UK’s arsenal.

Dr Andrew Foxall, director of Russian studies at the Henry Jackson Society, said Britain’s defence system, military strategy and training standards would not stand up to the Russian regime.
